WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington's WHQR-fm public radio is hoping to raise $165,000 during its week-long fall pledge drive.
The drive makes up a large part of the non-profit radio station's funding, and a partnership challenge inspires phone volunteer teams from non-profit groups to compete for underwriting announcements.
Morning host Bob Workmon agreed to sing on air if listeners met a $1,900 goal in an hour. They did, and he did.
Listeners can also score big with opportunities to win an iPad and a new Kindle Fire HD.
It all wraps up Tuesday.
